What is Signal?
Mark Zuckerberg was just one of the 533 million users whose personal data was stolen by hackers. In the end, we can see all the stolen information at one forum. Between all this information we could find Zuckerberg’s phone number, location, name, date of birth, marriage details, and user ID. Cyber-researcher Dave Walker confirmed that the personal data of Chris Hughes and Dustin Moskovitz were leaked. In the whole situation, we found out that Mark Zuckerberg also respects his own privacy and that is why he uses Signal.
The Signal is already used by 20 million people
The Signal is a secure message encryption application used by 20 million people. We can say that this is an alternative to all social media platforms. To join you will only need a phone number and the application is completely free.
Users have the same experience as other popular chat apps. It is a messaging application with features like individual messages, groups, stickers, photos, file transfers, voice calls, and even video calls. What is more interesting, you can have group conversations with up to 1000 people. But the only problem can be the fact that you can have a call between eight people.
The Signal is not owned by any large technology company. As a matter of fact, they are owned by a donation-funded non-profit foundation. What is more important, Signal owners don’t even try to make money.
More about...
All communication including individual messages, group messages, file transfers, photos, voice calls, and video calls has end-to-end encryption. Not to mention that only the people involved in the communication can see the conversation. And the company that owns Signal can’t see them even if they want to. However, we can say that this is a completely different messaging app.
The signal also offers other privacy features, including disappearing messages that will be automatically removed after a certain period. On the other hand, the Signal doesn’t collect any information about you. In case that they need to go to court, they can tell you anything special about you. Basically, they can only reveal your account phone number, the last time when you connected, and the time when you create the account.
