Will we one day travel with floating capsules?

In the desert north of Los Vegs, we can see a metal pipe at the foot of the mountains that could one day bring a revolution in travel. It is a 500-meter-long pipe of the Develop test site where people were transported in the floating capsules for the first time in November 2020. Despite the shortness of the "track", they managed to reach a speed of 172 km / h.

However, the Virgin Hyperloop is developing technology for floating capsules. Also one of their partners includes Richard Branson's Virgin Group. Those capsules would run at up to 1,200 kilometers per hour through near-vacuum tunnels using magnetic levitation. Half a year ago, the honor of being the first passenger on the futuristic Hyperloop train went to Josh Giegel. He is the company’s head of technological development, and the second person was Sari Luchian, director of the travel experience department. The brave duo rode in an XP-2 capsule that is used for pre-commercial testing.

Floating capsules are the future!

The floating capsules will accommodate 28 people, and they will be able for long and short distances and cargo transport. Giegel predicts the beginning of commercial use in 2027. This could be the first change in transportation in 100 years which will bring a revolution in travel.

The idea of a "vacuum train" was first mentioned in the early 1900s by the scientist Robert Goddard. France tried to develop Aerovlak in the 60s and 70s, and interest was rekindled by entrepreneur Elon Musk in 2013. At that time Gieleg worked for a Musk SpaceX. Virgin Hyperloop plans to build a network of tunnels to connect the world's largest cities. Firstly they have a plan to develop passenger lines in India. We all know that their transportation system is congested and floating capsules will help them a lot. And then in Saudi Arabia, where is a lack of infrastructure.
